Machine Configuration: The SMART Series performance will compare with machines at twice the price.
It has an all steel, internally ribbed, moving gantry, driven from both sides by oversized, closed loop servo motors. Moving Gantry machines require less shop floor space than other styles making it ideal for a shop with limited space.

Machine Construction: World class engineering is evident in every SMART series machine. Starting with the heaviest, continuous welded, and stress relieved all steel machine frame, weighing in at 5 tons, provides the foundation for the high speed and precise cutting. The rigidity and vibration absorbing characteristics of the computer designed ”machine tool quality” base and moving gantry contribute to our industry leading quality of cut and feedrates.

To insure accurate motion we mount a quad set of oversized hardened linear guides for each axis and connect them to a programmable auto lube system.

The X and Y axes are driven by Yaskawa brand servos connected to our unique dual pinion drive system. In total there are 6 hardened steel helical pinions delivering the power from the one X and two Y servos to the high quality rack. The Push/Pull torque delivered by the dual pinions create a very steep acceleration/deceleration curve.
ACC/DEC is important because it is applied to each move of a program. Faster curves mean better cut quality and faster program execution. The Z axis (up/down) uses an antibacklash ball screw mounted using roller bearings, then pneumatically counterbalanced.

Work surface: A dual layered phenolic is machined into a 4 zone vacuum plenum. The plenum acts to spread vacuum across the table surface, and is ideal to use with flow thru type fixturing or gasketed fixtures. The table also includes 4 pop up edge locators for easy positioning of sheet stock, or individual workpieces. (2) 7.5 HP rotary vane vacuum pumps are included.

The spindle: A liquid cooled 22 HP combination router/shaper spindle using HSK63 toolholders is integrated with an 8 position ride along carousel tool changer. This combination delivers fast ATC time, reliability, and reduces the wear and tear when compared to fixed rack tool changers.

The CNC control is an OSAI Open Industrial controller. Tool compensation functions (radius and length), on the fly override for feedrate and spindle speed and auto tool length measurement.

Installation & Training: The NEW CNC Router is completely assembled and tested prior to shipping. NEW CNC will provide training for your new machine at our factory in Holland Michigan. This is a class that will teach you everything you need to bring your machine into production.
