JOOS HP-150 5 X 10 PRECISION HYDRAULIC HOT PRESS  OKOTHERM WATER SYSTEM

STANDARD FEATURES:
Press construction open on all 4 sides for loading / unloading or step pressing of panels larger than the platen size.
ELKOM HEATING / COOLING PLATENS: patented
The press platens are (2) ELKOM brand Okotherm aluminum and copper composite heating plates rated to pressure hardness of 14 k/cm2. This patented and copy protected heating system has become the high end standard of the industry. The platens are heated by pressurized hot water / glycol from an internal or external heating system. This ensures temperature uniformity on the platen surface of + - 1 degree C. Temperature consistency is critical for high quality veneering.
ELKOM brand Okotherm platen surfaces are hard gold anodized. This hardening process prevents glue from sticking to the plates and eliminates the need for use of Mylar protecting foils commonly required with lower quality machines. The process also renders the platens to a high resistance of scratching or damaging of the pressing surface. ELKOM platens are available in a variety of configurations for temperatures up to 250 C 480 F

JOOS TABLE DESIGN:
Special close centered “ I ” beam design of the bed and top platen mounting surface is machined after assembly, and precision spring mounting fixtures for the hot platen give a uniform pressure that results in an evenly pressured glue bond. This heavy press table design ensures uniform pressure over the entire platen surface. The Joos designed pressure table allows us to pressurize the table evenly without having to add unnecessary sets of hydraulic cylinders to even the pressure against the frame. Thus insuring an evenly pressurized solid glue bond that is critical for step pressing oversize parts and intricate materials

JOOS ABS SAFETY SYSTEM: patented
Automatic Brake System- If it is attempted to close a Joos Press that had been incorrectly loaded, or in which some object has been unintentionally left on the press bed (happens all the time) sensors detect the fact immediately and the press is prevented from closing. ABS saves expensive damage to the Press, Platen, and Hydraulic system.

Loading The drawing below shows what can so easily happen in a woodworking shop. The material, press, platens or hydraulics will become damaged.

With A.B.S. The drawing below shows that the A.B.S. system from Joos will immediately react to the incorrect loading and stop the closing movement of the press. The press table will then open automatically.

CONTROL:
The operation is carried out by means of a clearly arranged swivelling control box located on the right hand side. The switch cabinet is completely installed longitudinal in the top part of the press with automatic press cycle timer installed. All controls located on the LogicTouch Panel

LOGICTOUCH CONTROL SYSTEM:
In today’s changing market many woodworking companies both large and small are beginning to investigate how to bring the lamination of veneer and plastic laminate panels in house. Quality control, long delivery times and cost savings are the 3 major reasons. Today shops require maximum versatility and quick set up times. When working with a hydraulic press the press operator has to constantly change the pressure settings and cycle times depending on the material to be pressed. This is critical when pressing different species and thickness of wood veneers. This process requires the operator to calculate the over all dimension of the parts to be pressed, then covert this size into the metric equivalent in order to arrive at the required specific pressure. Also the press times and temperature may vary depending on the veneer. With the addition of our Siemens “LogicTouch” control, the press operator can enter the required data and the press will set up automatically to the required settings. The program can be saved in memory and easily recalled the next time it is required. The interface is in color graphics and is conveniently mounted on a swivel system

HEATING PLATENS:
One upper and one lower ELKOM FLUIDTHERM HEATING PLATEN
3150 x 1600 x 37mm +40mm Composite heating/cooling conduction system complete with 40mm of special design insulation material to protect the press frame. Platens are hardened with gold anodization to protect the surface from damage and provide easy clean up of water soluble adhesives. This unique platen combined with the heating medium of water/glycol insures uniform temperatures across the surface. Energy savings of 75-80% can be realized against out dated oil heating systems. Environmentally friendly, energy saving, quick heat up times are just a few of the many benefits of this system

2 Heating Device Tool Temp TT-137 B Pressurized Water 18KW:
Heating device that is ready for connection and conceived for the operation with water as circuit medium. The control of the circuit medium temperature is effected automatically by means of an installed compact regulator with micro processor control that has an interface.
An uninterrupted safety chain ensures the safe operation of the device.
